Application

Pre-embarkation or Pre-flight spraying is to be carried out inside the empty aircraft cabin prior to passengers boarding at last port before departure for the destination country.

Treatment Procedure

  • During disinsection and for a period of 5 minutes after the completion of the spray, the aircraft’s air-conditioning must be switched off. Recirculation fans may be left on if essential to the operation of the aircraft but set at the lowest flow rate.
  • Before commencing treatment, ensure all overhead and sidewall lockers are left open.
  • Hold one can of Callington Pre-Spray and start spraying from the back of the aircraft, moving forward, keeping the can at arm’s length.
  • Direct the can to the open overhead lockers and ceiling, keeping a steady walking pace, no more than one step or one row per second.
  • Once this side is complete, switch over to the other side of the aisle, spraying all the way until you reach the rear of the aircraft.
  • Spray all galleys, including those on the lower levels and lift access areas.
  • Spray lavatories and coat lockers for two seconds.
  • Spray all crew rest areas using an up-and-down motion for three seconds.
  • The flight deck will also need to be sprayed for three seconds. Be sure to direct the spray away from aircraft equipment.
  • Spraying of cabins shall be carried out at a standard spray rate of 1g per second and based on a required coverage rate of 35g/100m3.
